The 2008 Salute!  Committee requests the honor of your participation in this year’s program honoring the veterans, their families, and the citizens of Lenoir County.  Kinston’s Salute!  Committee has elected to place special emphasis and honor upon our Heroes of the Middle East on November 7-9, 2008.

            Guidelines for vendors include:

All vendors—There is no booth fee for vendors; however, there is a $25 fee for electricity.  Vendor fees must accompany all applications.  Vendors who require electricity must include the total voltage and number of amps with their application.  Any appliance requiring 120 volts or more must run on it’s own extension cord (Vendors must supply).  Vendors are encouraged to bring a canopy since the event will be held rain or shine.  All vendors are responsible for supplying their own tables, chairs and display units.  Space sizes are 10’ x 10’ in all areas.  Remember, no part of your booth can encroach on other vendors in adjacent spaces.  Due to limited space, the Salute! Committee has the right to limit vendors of identical merchandise.  Vendors must handle their own sales and are responsible for their own NC sales tax.

The following items have been banned from the festival:

                        --Snap-N-Pops                                      --Stink Bombs

                        --Disappearing Ink                                 --Silly String

--Water guns and cap guns                    --Imitation cigarettes

The Salute! Committee also has the authority to ban other items if they are deemed unsafe or a nuisance.  Any vendor attempting to offer the above banned items will be given only one warning to suspend sales before being ejected from the celebration.

The Salute! Committee shall NOT be held liable for damage to wares of vendors or their personal property, or for loss or injury caused by products sold by vendors directly or through warranty expressed or implied.  Insurance for loss and liability shall be the responsibility of the vendor, at their cost.

No parking will be permitted on the celebration site except for unloading and loading.  All vehicles must clear the exhibit area no later than 9:30am on Saturday, November 8th and park in the designated vendor parking area.  Vendors should not dismantle their booth until 5:00 pm.

Arts & Crafts Vendors—75% of each item should be the handiwork of the participant, including, but not limited to: painting, photography, needlework, ceramics, and homemade clothing.  Prices of all merchandise must be visible.

Food Vendors—Vendors must provide their own fire extinguisher and proper disposal of in-booth trash.  A sign MUST be posted on the front of the concession listing the price of all items being sold at the onset of the celebration.  Sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.  Food vendors must submit a temporary food establishment application to Lenoir County Environmental Health.  All food vendors are responsible for their own waste!

Public Service & Non-Profit Organizations—Organization must have an IRS tax-exempt 501c3 status.  Vendors under this category are eligible to sell items with the exception of those banned (listed above).
